  19. Introduction    The fonts included on this CD have been collected from a
  20.                 variety of worldwide sources. In order to make things
  21.                 easier for the user we have intentionally sorted all the
  22.                 fonts into individual directories, containing all
  23.                 associated font files along with an IFF screen preview of
  24.                 the font (Who else has done this on a CD?) 
  25.  
  26.                 We also decided to keep the main font directories in line
  27.                 with the the way the fonts are/were distributed in the EMC
  28.                 PD/Shareware library. Over 14,500 EMC customers worldwide
  29.                 have access to the famous EMC Information pack, so
  30.                 theoretically, these users will already have a hard copy
  31.                 printout of the fonts.

  33.                 Some fonts come with text files by the font's author.
  34.                 PLEASE read these files for further information on the
  35.                 fonts and shareware fees. If you make use of the fonts...
  36.                 PLEASE send the author the money he asks for. He/She has
  37.                 spent large amounts of both time and probably money
  38.                 developing/converting the typefaces so you can use them!

  42. Installation For CG ScalableFonts ------------------------------------------

  45.  
  46. ProPage.........For versions prior to version 3.0...simply copy the 4 font
  47.                 files from each directory into your default CGFonts
  48.                 directory.
  49.                 The fonts required have the .atc, .metric, .lib and the
  50.                 .dat file extensions. For Professional Page 3.0 users, we
  51.                 would recommend that you purchase EMC volumes 4, 5, 6, and
  52.                 7, since these contain Type 1 format fonts, which can be
  53.                 run through Fontmanager. Fontmanager will also create a
  54.                 Professional Page postscript downloadable font file for
  55.                 each font. Sometimes, you may find that Professional
  56.                 Page's font requester will not seem to recognise some of
  57.                 the new fonts you have added. For this reason we have
  58.                 included the Gold Disk program "Update_CG" on the first
  59.                 disk of this volume of disks. It is basically the same as
  60.                 Workbench's fixfont, and all you need to do is double click
  61.                 on the icon to update your CGfont directory.
  62.                 Please note: PPage 3 does not require the .atc files.

  66. Pagesetter3.....Please follow the instructions above.

  69. Pagesetter2.....Floppy Installation
  70.  
  71.                 Firstly, you should make a copy of your PSUtil disk. In
  72.                 order to make space on the copy you can then delete the
  73.                 following files from the copy:
  74.  
  75.                 1.  All the fonts in the FONTS: directory EXCEPT the Topaz
  76.                     font directory and the Topaz.font file.
  77.                 2.  The complete MISC directory and the Misc.info file.
  78.                 3.  The complete NEWSLETTER directory and the
  79.                     Newsletter.info file.
  80.                 4.  The MakeFont, MakeFont.info, and the Showme files.
  81.                 5.  Then in the CGFONTS directory you can delete CacheEdit
  82.                     and the CacheEdit.info files.
  83.  
  84.                 At this stage you may also delete the Times and Triumvirate
  85.                 font files, but we recommend that you don't since you will
  86.                 find that you may need to use these fonts quite often.
  87.  
  88.                 After you have completed the above, we recommend that you
  89.                 copy this 'NEW' PSUtils disk as many times as necessary to
  90.                 create new font disks. You then simply have to copy the EMC
  91.                 CGFont files with the file extensions; .dat, .atc, .metric
  92.                 and .lib from the individual font directories to your 'NEW'
  93.                 PSUtil disk's CGFonts directory.

  95.                 Since Pagesetter writes information constantly to your
  96.                 CGCache directory we also recommend that you create one new
  97.                 PSUtils disk for every EMC font disk, this will give you the
  98.                 space that CGCache needs.

  101. Pagesetter2.....Hard Drive Installation
  102.  
  103.                 Simply copy the font files with the .atc, .dat, .metric and
  104.                 .lib to Pagesetter's CGFonts directory
  105.

  108. Wordworth2/3....Simply copy the font files with the .lib extension to your
  109.                 Wordworth:Intellifont directory, for example
  110.                 Flintstone.lib.
  111.                 When you have done this for all the fonts you wish to
  112.                 install, double click on the AGFAInstall icon and the fonts
  113.                 will be installed into the Wordworth environment for you.
  114.                 Wordsworth does not require the font files with the .atc,
  115.                 .dat or .metric  extensions.
  116.                 Wordworth can also access the CGFonts that you may have
  117.                 installed into your system if you are using WB 2/3. We
  118.                 recommend that if you are using WB 2/3 that you actually
  119.                 use the WB installed CGFonts (installed via Fountain /
  120.                 Intellifont)
  121.                 All you need to do in WWorth is select "AmigaFont" in the
  122.                 font requester.

  126. WB2/3 Systems...HARD DRIVE ONLY
  127.  
  128.                 This installation is used for installing fonts into your
  129.                 system for use with Opalvision, Scala, DPaint 4.1+, TVText
  130.                 Professional, Wordworth and any program that can use CG
  131.                 Scalable fonts under WB 2 and 3. We recommend this
  132.                 procedure for Hard Drive users only (due to the disk
  133.                 space limitations of floppy based systems.

  136. Workbench 2.....The fonts will need to be run through "Fountain" in the
  137.                 usual way.
  138.  
  139.                 1.  Make a new drawer (directory) called "EMCFonts"
  140.                 2.  Copy all the .lib font files for the fonts that you
  141.                     wish to install, from the EMC CD to the new EMCFonts
  142.                     drawer.
  143.                 3.  Once you have copied all the .lib files to the new
  144.                     drawer, run the WB program "Fountain" which should be
  145.                     found in your "System drawer"
  146.                 4.  In the top left of Fountain's screen you will see a
  147.                     text box. Enter "Work: EMCFonts" (without the quotes)
  148.                     This is presuming that you created the EMCFonts drawer
  149.                     in your Work: partition.
  150.                 5.  Once disk activity has finished the fonts that you
  151.                     copied into the EMCFonts drawer should be listed on the
  152.                     left hand side of Fountain's screen.
  153.                 6.  Click on the names of the fonts that you wish to install
  154.                     (a cross will appear next to the font's name) and click 
  155.                     on the gadget that says "Install marked Typefaces"
  156.                     The fonts will then be installed into your system Fonts:
  157.                     drawer ready for use.

  160. Workbench 3.....The same as above except that the fonts need to be run
  161.                 through Intellifont, which is basically the same program                 as WB2's Fountain.
